27th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology

It is my pleasure to announce that the 27^th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology (JSNMT) will be held in Osaka City from July 14^th to 15^th, 2007.

This year’s theme is “Hajime”, meaning “One- the basis and beginning of all things”.  “Hajime” reminds us that one should keep the basics in mind when striving to obtain the best results and to develop the technology further.  That is, we should review the techniques and know-how established by those who came before us, take another look at the methods currently in use, and based on that set of knowledge, endeavor to advance nuclear medicine technology.

As for the venue, with cooperation from the City of Osaka, this year’s meeting will be held at the Osaka Central Public Hall (Osaka Chuo Kokaido), a historical landmark designated as an Important Cultural Property by the Japanese Government.  Located in the city center, it is within easy access from Kansai and Osaka Airports as well as the Shin-Osaka Shinkansen Bullet Train station, and convenient for excursions to sightseeing spots such as Osaka Castle and Universal Studios Japan.  Also, from nearby Yodoyabashi Station, one can take a train directly to Kyoto.  During July, Kyoto will be hosting the Gion Matsuri, one of the biggest traditional festivals in Japan.  We invite you all to take this opportunity to visit Japan, and we look forward to seeing you at the Meeting.
